Apiary tours are available to school groups and others from late May to late September and provide an opportunity to see honeybees in action pollinating and collecting nectar from nearby plants. Tour hosts are beekeepers and among many other things, can explain the importance native pollinators and honeybees to our food system, the foraging behavior of honeybees, how honeybees stay warm in Winter and cool in Summer. Tours may be held at Rancho Verde near Humboldt Park or preSERVE Garden in North Lawndale.
